Home Economics gives pupils the opportunity to acquire the skills needed for life. In S1/S2 all pupils experience Home Economics. In S3/S4 pupils can opt to study Standard Grade Home Economics. In S5/S6 pupils have the option of friendship sms . sad sms and sms jokes - Higher Health and Food Technology Students considering further education courses which would prepare them for working in e.g. - The food industry - Nursing - Hospitality Would find Health and Food Technology very beneficial. Practical Cookery (Intermediate 2) This course helps to prepare students for the Hospitality Industry and leads towards further education courses such as Professional Cookery (Int 2). However, many pupils enjoy Practical Cookery as an interest based course. Home Economics courses at all levels cover topics such as - - Nutrition - Current Dietary Advice - Consumerism - Hygiene and Safety - Food - its uses and preparation - The choice and use of a wide range of kitchen equipment.
